What is the fee of the event?

The event has no fee.

When will the conference be held?

The Conference will be held from 7 to 10 June 2016.

Where will the conference take place?

The Conference will take place in the city of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. The event will be carried out in the Grand Museum of the Mayan World.

Who can participate?

  • National Statistical Offices and National authorities responsible for the collection, dissemination and analysis of statistics on crime, victimization and justice.
  • Policy makers, experts, ministries and agencies involved in the development, monitoring and assessment of policies to prevent crime and improve the functioning of the criminal justice system.
  • Statisticians, researchers, scholars and other experts interested in crime statistics and involved in the improvement of surveys design, the development of research and the promotion of international standards within the fields of governance, crime, victimization and justice.
  • Civil Society Organizations, research institutions, academia, media representatives dealing with crime analysis and issues related to the measurement of access to justice/rule of law at national and international levels.

What is the call for papers?

It is an invitation for students, researchers and experts to submit their papers as to be presented during the 3rd International Conference on Governance, Crime and Justice Statistics.

What is the call for posters?

It is an invitation for doctoral students who are working on research projects and wish to learn from opinions and recommendations by experts in the area. The research project is supposed to be in development and may not have been published yet.

What is the framework of the sessions?

  • Plenary sessions: Refers to an exposition by an expert about a topic or a particular problem.
  • Thematic Panels: Refers to a session in which various experts analyse one particular topic.
  • Workshops: Refers to a discussion of collaborative learning, during which the participants build knowledge and develop capabilities and perspectives with respect to a certain topic.

At what time does the registration begin?

The registration desk will open at 8:00 am.

May I register the day of the event?

It will be possible to register on the day of the event. However, we recommend submitting an early electronic registration in order to facilitate the process and be granted with a welcome kit.

Is there any limit to the sessions I may attend?

No, there is no upper limit regarding the sessions you may attend.

Can I attend just one day of the Conference?

Yes, it is possible to attend just one day of the Conference, but we will not be able to issue a certificate of participation.

Will I receive a certificate of participation?

Yes, certificates of participation will be issued to individuals who at least attend two session days.

Will there be simultaneous interpretation during the Conference?

Yes, there will be English-Spanish and Spanish-English interpretation.

Will the lunch be provided during the Conference?

Yes, the lunch will take place at the premises of the Centro de Convenciones Siglo XXI located right next to the Grand Museum of the Mayan World.

Will there be internet access?

Yes, wireless internet service is offered at the venue of the event.

What facilities and services are available for people with disabilities?

The Grand Museum of the Mayan World is equipped with access ramps, an elevator and all the necessary services in order to supply everyone with access to its areas.
